We are seeking an experienced Payroll Clerk for our consolidated Payroll Department in Bethlehem. This team processes bi-weekly payroll for over 1900 employees. This position will be expected to process payroll for 6-8 automotive dealerships (3-4 dealerships with roughly 250-300 employees total each week).  As an experienced Payroll Clerk, you will be responsible for a variety of duties, including, but not limited to: 


  • Data entry of all payroll information
  • Collect and calculate payroll data in excel spreadsheets and prepare for batch uploads
  • Update payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, job titles, 401k and benefits changes and department/ dealership transfers
  • Process payroll for roughly 250-300 employees each week
  • Prepare bi-weekly payroll reports: compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information
  • Maintain employee confidence/ confidentiality
  • Promptly and courteously answer all payroll-related questions from employees and managers
  • Build and run custom reports through the payroll system
  • Administer garnishments and deductions as applicable
  • Handle some general ledger accounting functions
  • Function within established policies and procedures to assure compliance to federal and state regulations.
  • Assist Payroll Manager with payroll tax issues as needed

  • Must have ability to work well with all levels of staff and management

  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

  • Other duties as assigned

  • Maintain highest ethical practices

Job Requirements



Applicants must be at least 18 years old and have the following: 

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Accounting HIGHLY PREFERRED

  • Minimum of 2 years payroll experience using ADP (Workforce Now highly preferred) or  similar enterprise payroll system

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Ability to work independently

  • Effective organization and prioritization skills

  • Excellent MS Office (Outlook and Excel), verbal and written communication skills are a must!

  • Ability to manage time and work under strict deadlines

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and via email
